Nix Industrial Announces “First of Its Kind” Merger in New Albany, Indiana

(Poseyville, IN: August 20th, 2024)

Nix Industrial, a 5th generation family business and leader in metal fabrication and industrial services, is thrilled to announce a first of its kind merger of two fifth-generation family-owned businesses in Indiana: Per the Indiana Secretary of State, 0.0003 of all companies have been registered in the state more than 100 years, making this, quite literally a “1 in a million.”  Nix Industrial has acquired the majority ownership interest in Bert R. Huncilman & Son Inc, (DBA Huncilman Sheet Metal Fabrication) of New Albany, IN. This marks the largest acquisition to date for Nix Industrial, positioning the combined companies as one of the largest metal fabricators in the state of Indiana and one of the 40 largest in the U.S. The companies have a combined workforce of over 200 team members.

About Huncilman Sheet Metal Fabrication

The Huncilman family and business have been a cornerstone of the New Albany community for over a century. Founded as a boiler repair company, today, Huncilman’s primary capabilities include laser cutting, precision forming, welding (including robotic welding), and E-coat painting. With a long standing reputation, Huncilman exemplifies the values and family heritage that align perfectly with Nix Industrial’s mission. Parker Huncilman, the 5th generation leader, has joined forces with the Nix family (also in its 5th generation) to acquire the business from his father and uncle. Parker Huncilman will continue as the General Manager and Managing Partner of this newly formed entity.

Huncilman Family Statement: The Huncilman family couldn’t be more pleased to be partnering with Nix Industrial. We consider ourselves fortunate to have found a company with the same values and heritage as ours. The sense of community, respect for team members, commitment to customers and vendors provides for the combined companies to be greater than their parts. This will ensure a future for generations to come.

Preserving A Legacy

This strategic move not only expands Nix Industrial’s operational footprint and process capabilities, but also preserves the culture and legacy of Huncilman Sheet Metal, one of Indiana’s long standing companies. Nix Industrial recognizes the importance of honoring the heritage and values that have contributed to the Huncilman’s success over the years. Nix Industrial, along with Parker Huncilman, aims to build upon the legacy and continue serving the community with the same dedication and integrity.

Matthew Nix (President of Nix Industrial) Statement: “We are excited to welcome Huncilman Sheet Metal into the Nix Industrial family. This merger represents a significant milestone in our company’s history and aligns perfectly with our mission to ‘Be Big, Act Small ℠.’ To be the partner of choice for a family business that has been around this long, is quite a humbling experience. It’s a responsibility we do not take lightly. We are committed to maintaining the exceptional standards and values that the Huncilmans have upheld for generations, while leveraging our expanded capabilities to better serve our combined team members, customers, and communities.”
