1887 – The following excerpt was taken from the local newspaper in Ingraham:
“The wagon making, repair and general blacksmith occupied by Mr. Nix is one of the best equipped of its kind in the county. All the essential tools are at hand to do good work in this line than any other man in this part of the county, and he has turned out vehicles that have given eminent satisfaction.”
“One of the secrets of this gentleman’s success lies in the fact his charges are most reasonable. Another great specialty of Mr. Nix is in handling of the Deering Harvesting Machinery. He sold more of these machines last year than any other three men in business. He sells more implements simply because he buys in larger quantities and for cash, and in consequence can offer inducements not possible by other dealers.”
